Media images uploading but receiving error message

  • When I try to use the media uploader it tells me “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.” When I look under media library it shows me all my folders by month and year but it always says “no items found.” BUT when I log into my file manager all the images that I tried to upload – the one’s that I got error messages for – are there. I know that I could then post them by URL but I would much prefer to get the media library working as it should.
    I’ve tried disabling all plug-ins. I’ve also tried the twenty fifteen and several other new themes (with no customization) which have no effect on the problem.
    I’m currently using a kid theme of Modularity Light and Yahoo Small Business hosts my blog. I’ve already tried using FTP to change permissions with no effect. I’m using PHP 5.3.6 and WordPress 4.3.1
    I’m using Firefox. I’ve tried several computers just in case it was a problem on my local machine.
    I could really use help. I’ve tried all the online solutions that I’ve seen and understand. THANK YOU for any suggestions!

  • I have same issue on one clients page. I used a plugin called “Media from FTP” to have a work around. I load up the images via FTP and then register them through the plugin.
    But that workaround is not fulfilling.
