  • Hi. I’m unable to replicate that problem, which isn’t to say the problem doesn’t exist, just that I can’t find a way to make it happen on my end. Have you also discussed this with shortpixel? Maybe they have seen this before.

    Hi there,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have been in contact with short pixels developer, because it is caused by elementor plugin there is nothing they can do and suggested I contact elementor support. I am using the free elementor plugin.

I am unable to re-store the short pixel back up files or re-optimize. Error Message “backup cant be found”. Because with Elementor activated, the media files are saved into the in-correct folders (YY/MM) when uploaded to media library.

With Elementor de-activated, the media files are saved into the correct folders (YY/MM) when uploaded to media library therefore, short pixel can locate them and restore the back up files.

It is not feasible to de-activate elementor every time I wish to upload new images or replace existing ones. My site would be down to visitors.

Is it possible for a developer from Elementor to login to my wordpress and hosting manager and investigate please?

    Thank you!

I will ask a developer to take a look at your post. I notice that your theme comes with some Elementor widgets of its own. As a test, I would recommend temporarily trying a default WordPress theme like Twenty Nineteen. It’s possible that when you deactivate Elementor, the net effect is that you are also deactivating the plugin/widgets that rely on Elementor, so it may be those that are actually the cause. I’d also put Autoptimize and Enable Media Replace into the “check and see if deactivating those might solve the problem” category. Especially Enable Media Replace since it directly involves the media library. Try those things and I’ll try to get a developer over here to check this out in the meantime.

pro-tip; you can disable Autoptimize on a per-request basis by adding ?ao_noptimize=1 to the URL.

if the problem is not there at that point, some autoptimize (re-)configuration might be needed to fix this. there are troubleshooting tips and info on how to exclude in the AO FAQ.

    hope this helps debugging,
    frank (ao dev)

Thank you to both of you for your support on the issue. It seems there was a bug with the theme, not sure what exactly but, my theme developer released a new theme update to resolve the issue.

    Thank you!
