    Hi,

    I’m not sure, what’s going on, but at our site, PowerPress are adding the following snippet to the “media embed” section by default.

    Is there an option build in, for that – or what?

    Last time we publiched an episode, the snippet showed up at the top of the page – but non of use, has pasted the code in that section of the edit-page.

    Inds?ttelse af medie</span>"
                              style="font-size: 14px; width: 95%; height: 80px;"
                              onfocus="this.select();">

    So, is there a bug, have we missed a setting – or do we have a publicher, which has a dump browser, which are pasting the value, or something like that?

    We’re running with the latest version of both WordPress and PowerPress.

  • Same problem here. It first occured after updating to the newest version of the plugin. Clearly a bug in the plugin, since this text:
    Inds?ttelse af medie</span>”
    style=”font-size: 14px; width: 95%; height: 80px;”
    onfocus=”this.select();”>

    is inserted every time one saves a post after editing, so we ended up with this strange text being shown 9 times…

    Can we please get a fix?

    Hello @exetico and @frhlokalradio,

    Sorry you are having issues. Obviously now 2 people reported this, it must be something seriously wrong with PowerPress, we are looking into it.

    First, i am looking into why our support staff did not respond to your posting sooner. Sorry for the delay. We typically reply within 24-48 hours.

    Please reply with links to your websites where this is happening, it can help us determine where the code is coming from and how it is getting there.

    Thanks,
    Angelo

    Hello Angelo

    Thanks for replying.

    I help two websites that are using your plugin and both now experience this issue since the newest plugin was installed this weekend.

    The feeds are these:
    https://flygtningeogfred.dk/feed/podcast/
    https://fcmr.dk/feed/

    I have just published this test post and pressed “update” once – which makes the strange text occur twice just above the player:
    https://flygtningeogfred.dk/2000/03/01/post-for-test-purposes/

    BTW: Both websites are in Danish – and @exetico is also getting a Danish text (“Inds?ttelse af medie” which translates to insertion of media) so maybe the bug has to do with a missing “<” or something like that in versions not in English?

    Hi @amandato

    Thanks for the reply. As @frhlokalradio mentions, i can confirm that our site is in Danish, too.

    Could this be related to unwanted characters in the translation, or so?

    I’m currently on my phone, so i can’t walk throught the translation source.

    Also, thanks for adressing the slow response ?? At least, we was able to remove the HTML.

    Hi all,

    We’re experiencing some delays for our newest update, but we have posted a pre-release version of PowerPress 8.2.6 which addresses several bugs, including the one discussed in this thread. You can find it here:

    Thank you for using PowerPress!

    We’ve updated to the latest version. I’ll report back, if we see something similar in the future.

    Thanks you, for the fix.

    Hello @exetico,

    Yes we believe it was the translation had a character that was making the HTML terminate a tag earlier than it should have. The recent updates should have resolved this.

    Thanks,
    Angelo
