• I’m attempting to simplify my site and use the minimum number of plugins.

When I started, I used Nexgen. Then I moved to Envira. Envira has a number of extra plug ins available.

    Recently I’ve heard about FooGallery.

My dilemma is this: I’m a traveler and take a lot of photo’s when I travel and place them in post. I like having slide shows for ease of my readers.

Is there a media managing program that is simplest and works best for this basic use? Or could I get by simply using the media program built into wordpress.

Just looking for some ideas and suggestions here!

    Thank you!

  • For general use, WordPress’ native media management is actually pretty decent (in my personal opinion – obviously this can be a very subjective and opinionated matter). You can start there and decide if you need to add more later on. You definitely would need to add a plugin for slideshows as that’s not native to WordPress out of the box. I’m not going to recommend specific plugins but I do recommend setting up a test site and running the plugins you’re interested in through their paces to see what works best for your workflow, performance, and presentation needs.

Thanks! Might have to keep part of Enviraas galleries show in many post? Also checked soliloquy as possible simple addition, they offer a slider. Cheers!
