Media Carousel Widget and associalted row has a fill when set to transparent

I setup a page template with a media carousel at the bottom of the page. Both the row and the widget are set with a transparent background. All looks good on the template. When I import the template into a page the widget and or row end up with a black background. I import using the templates setting to override the page’s setting.
How do I remove this black background?
