media (auto) embed does not work in classic editor

    I’m using the classic editor due to contraints with the custom theme being used for a new website but when copying and pasting the video link to embed it into a page/post only displays the link and does not automatically generate the embed thumbnail. Has this feature been removed from the classic editor?

    Hi @coronasystems – this plugin has had no changes in three months.

    Could you please go ahead and do the following:

    • Provide a link to the video that isn’t working
    • Provide WordPress version
    • Provide your theme name and version
    • Is the issue present with all your plugins temporarily deactivated, except Classic Editor? You can use the Health Check plugin‘s troubleshooting mode for this, which will not change your live site. If the problem goes away, reactivate your plugins one by one (while still in troubleshooting mode) to find the culprit.
    • If you deactivate the Classic Editor plugin, does your video embed work in the block editor?
    • If you deactivate the Classic Editor, does oEmbed work in the Classic block?
