Is it possible to request normal media area?

    Normal means:
Standard and advance mode for media settings.

    in advance settings:

    1. user defined directory structure, not a unsorted dump for thousands pictures.
    2. direct image insertion from FTP to post/page
    3. group images into galleries and have galleries lists in hierarchy structure
    4. unable taxonomies for images and galleries
    5. generate shortcodes for images and galleries
    6. ability to set separate function to display images for templates, so users can preset where on post/page images should be displayed.
    7. Bulk edit
    8. etc….

For years WP users asking WP team for normal media… do we all who need a normal system just a screaming in dessert middle of deaf land?

You would need to find someone who can code all of that, actually.

generate shortcodes for images and galleries

    Actually we have that one.

Well, when we talk of hire someone for something that’s mean system we are using is not free.
When we are talking about free system there is nothing wrong with requesting of functionalities that were requested by thousands of users for many years.

Your advice is like giving empty plate to homeless man and said: “I gave you the plate, now you must get your own food” – ‘thank you very much’ for your attention to users needs…

xrundel1 There really is no need for that sort of reply.

Yes, this is a request and feedback forum and yours is valid feedback. But you probably won’t encourage anyone to do this work with that sort of reply.

The list that you provided was a design spec for code. Out of the box WordPress does have a great deal of functionality and it is extensible but when you don’t see such an exact match your options are

    1. Wait till someone else writes it
    2. Consider coding it yourself
    3. Hire someone to code it for you

Each of those are valid and suggesting that you will need to find someone to code it is a valid reply too.

Jan Dembowski, there really is no need for that sort of reply.

Your reply is only purpose to show support for your fellow WP volunteer and nothing else.
I’m not here for off topic arguments, or angry discussion. Everyone has opinion and mine, in this case, if your team member can’t say anything valuable, than its better to keep silence – closed mouth gathers no feet…

    Good luck to you both…

Not only. I was also trying to explain the point of that answer that you may have missed. The WordPress community works as a team and while some forum members can be unpleasant, we all support the software and each other as we can.

But as this topic has well and truly become argumentative and really not productive I am closing this down. I will leave some advice: when you are suggesting that others perform work to meet your needs, you may want to remember that, like yourself, we’re all volunteers doing support on our free time.

If you want your requests to be taken seriously then you might consider that before you reply as you have.
