    Hi

I Just used short pixel to compress about 1200 images on a wordpress install – I did it to reduce the amount of space the site was taking up

before I did the optimization the the cPanel account size was 1188mb -0 after compressing I assumes that would go down substantaily – but it got larger – it is now 1257mb

if images are being successfully compressed the overall directory size would get smaller, would it not??

I just noticed a directory called “ShortpixelBackups” – I guess that can be removed?

    Hi,
ShortpixelBackups is the folder where the backup images are saved. If you are positive that the resulting images look good then you can remove it. Alternatively you could just download it on your local computer and remove it from the sever. This way you’ll still have the original images in case you need them.

    Best regards,
    Alex
