mbstring warning

    I’m getting the warning:

    Warning: the Multibyte String php extension (mbstring) is not installed. Postie will not function without this extension.

    ..despite the fact that the mbstring is definitely enabled as I have checked phpinfo.

    What is more, Postie appears to be functioning.

    Any ideas how to get rid of the message? Other sites running Postie on the same server are not showing the message.

    Postie looks to see if the function mb_detect_encoding is available. If not then it assumes that mbstring is not installed.

    Postie will continue to work especially if you are using HTML emails.

    I’ve looked into the specific needs Postie has around mbstring and will update it to be more flexible and will no longer display this message.
