Maxmind Update will require update of the plugin to 3.0

Thank you for keeping on top of this. It’s not easy to keep up with global data laws.

The version 3.0 is out now – I couldn’t test it though as invalid licence keys do not throw any error. Probably we will know more tomorrow ??

im using ‘Automatic download & update of Maxmind GeoIP Lite City’.
it doesnt update automatically.
when im trying to update manually with ‘Update now’ im getting error: ‘File was not updated: 401: Unauthorized’
on the front end im using the countries classes to control display but the class always show as geoip-country-US and only the province class change.

The license key usually is a 16-char alphanumeric string – can you check if this is the case for you?

i made a mistake and put the wrong code as licence key.
now the update worked and i got ‘Updated successfully.’ ??

sadly i still got the same issue with the classes. i check from israel and get geoip-country-US geoip-province-IL. it doesnt seem to work properly.

This is a different issue and probably not related to 3.0. Please open a new topic for it. Do you use a caching plugin?
