• Hi, thank you for the plugin!
At the start I tried using your first free data source: HostIP.info Web-API
But it didn’t detect all the IPs, so I moved to maxmind.

I’ve signed up for GeoLite2 account on maxmind website and created license key. I’ve also downloaded GeoLite2-Country.mmdb database from their website, and uploaded it to /wp-content/uploads/GeoLite2-Country.mmdb. When I intered the Filepath to mmdb-file and When I click save it gives me an error: “The manual datafile has not been found or is not a mmdb-File.”
    Here are the screenshots:

I’ve also tried to enter full path https://www.demostran.eu/wp-content/uploads/GeoLite2-Country.mmdb and I’ve also made a copy of db and moved it to root https://www.demostran.eu/GeoLite2-Country.mmdb which also didn’t work.

    What am I doing wrong?

And please note that this is my personal testing website. When succeded, I’ll implement it on the production.

Full *file* paths also work, e.g. /var/html/wordpress/wp-content/… – depending on your hosting environment.

However, it is better if you use “Automatic update” and enter your licence key details there – because the database should be updated regularly.

Thank you for your quick answer. But also this didn’t work. Maybe some problem with the access of files on my part.

If I try to change settings to: “Maxmind GeoIP Lite City (Automatic download & update)” and then insert ID and Key, I get this error:
Selected data source: Maxmind File Database (file does not exist or is not readable) (updated weekly)
    No Maxmind database found.
Do you think this is a problem with my account?

I’m still using free account. Now I applied for trial Maxmind Precision Web-API to try with that but I’m stil waiting for the approval.

It is solved now. I’ve just selected 4th option: Maxmind Precision Web-API Maxmind Precision Services and inserted my ID and key of my free account and it works. Strange, because I thought that you need to pay Maxmind for this option.
    Thank you anyway.

Probably that is the precision trial for free.

Which error do you see when you are on “automatic update” and click on “update now” ?
