Maximum supported image size?
-
I am building a new wordpress site. I’ve build many. My new site is for photography and outdoor, so I was planning to use very large image and video… but If I upload large image like:
https://dewors.ninja/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/anolis.jpgImage size generation don’t work. When it don’t work, full image is loaded into media library which become VERY slow. if I try to edit the image into wordpress it will fail. But other image (smaller) will succeed. I’am with hostgator and I tried to increase memory usage up to 1024M. Same symptoms.
I’ve try several pluggins, I’ve disabled all pluggin, I’ve reinstalled WordPress, use default theme as well… so I dig a lot no luck.
I’ve come to the conclusion that there is a built in limit with image size in wordpress but no luck to find it.
The image provided as an example is “not that big” I have a lot of traveling panorama in the 5000+ pixel wide.
So my question is: is there a built in limit? (maybe with libraries used?) Is wordpress supposed to be compliant with large image (typical 4000X2000 pixels)? Is there know issues?
Thanks!
