Maximum number of posts in a custom post

  • A while back I ran into an issue with custom permalinks. If you had more than 150 posts and a custom permalink structure that didn’t start with a number (ie date) the site would significantly slow down and crash the server.

    Now with custom post types am I facing the same issue? Let’s say I have a post of a custom type that was actually a photo and I had 500 photos on my site, in other words over 500 pages of my custom post type. If my permalink doesn’t start with a number will my site slow down as it did with blog posts?

  • pages create many problems in wordpress .don’t pass 500 .and i see now that lots of posts are also bad

    But if my permalink is only /photo/photoname I should be ok no? Cause that only creates 1 rewrite rule so it shouldn’t matter. Am I wrong?
