• Can I get the same maximized compression on my site avaiable in pro without using the cloud? I have a powerful server and would like to do such things on my box.

The premium compression is not available for on-premise optimization, only via the “cloud” API.

    That seems unfair

If it was possible to bundle up the API tools and deliver it locally, we would, but it’s just not technically feasible. Additionally, the Premium Plus mode is powered by a partnership with Tinify. We don’t even have access to the “nuts & bolts” of their compression technology, let alone the ability to make it available to others.

In fact, we are the only image optimization plugin that offers local/on-premise compression in any form (our free mode). It’s not an easy task to do that much, but we do what we can.

I understand. Well working for artists they want to keep control over their work and not have copies of it in a cloud. I love this plugin. Hopefully, there will be a pro version of the plugin for compressing onsite.

    Appreciate everything you do.

No worries, we do NOT store copies of any images on our API servers. Once an image is optimized, it is returned directly to your server, and immediately deleted from memory (much different than our Easy IO service that operates as a CDN for your images).

The only exception on that is if you enable the 30-day backups option, but that is completely optional and can be disabled directly within the plugin for any privacy-conscious folks.

This I didn’t know. I’ll present this. Its certainly workable.
