    Hi Thomas,

Thanks for the great work you have done on Soliloquy – I’ve enjoyed using it on my site so far (I’m currently creating a local site to replace my old one).

With the update to 2.0.4, when I add images to a slider (I have added 3 images which each have a resolution of 1920 x 400 pixels), their size is reduced, after being uploaded, to 1024 x 213. After clicking “view image,” I can see that the actual size of the images, and therefore the image quality, has been reduced, and not just the size of the image as it is displayed in the slider, though that is reduced as well (the slider size is set to 1920 x 400 in Soliloquy’s settings). Here’s a link to a screenshot.

As you can see by the empty gray space, I am trying to make a 100% width slider, where the image doesn’t change size or scale but is centered and cropped at left and right edges until the user’s browser size hits a smaller media query. Somewhat like this, which is what the previous version of Soliloquy was doing correctly.

I don’t have a paid version, but I thought I would post this in case anyone else is having a similar issue with the update.

    Thanks!

    david

Have you checked the option in the config settings to crop the images? If so, make sure to uncheck that option.

Is there any chance you can link me to the site where this is occurring? Thanks!

    Thanks for your response!

    – Yep, the “Crop Images” option is unchecked.
    – I’m afraid I can’t give a link that would work as it’s purely a local site on my Mac through MAMP (unless there is a way around that), but I’m happy to do a screen capture or something similar if it would help.

Does your host have a max upload size restriction or something that could be preventing the images from being uploaded properly? I’m just trying to think of different things here.

So what you are saying is that you are uploading images as 1920×400, but after they are uploaded, they have been CROPPED to 1024×213, not just SCALED in the browser based on viewport size, correct? Like, when you inspect the image, the natural size says 1024×213?

I tried uploading the same slider via 1) WordPress’ “Add Media” option and 2) through Soliloquy, and the first upload stayed at 1920 x 400, while the second was reduced to 1024 x 213. And, correct, this is the actual image file after it’s been uploaded, and not merely how it appears in the browser.

Ok, thanks for letting me know. Let me run some tests with this and see if I can reproduce so as to get it resolved. Thanks for pointing this out!

Yes, this is a bug. I have reproduced it and will fix in v2.0.5 of the plugin which will be out later today. ??

If you would leave a good review that would rock! Hope you continue to dig the plugin!

Wow….reading some of the negative reviews is frustrating! People post the same 1-star review twice; ignore simple instructions on how to use the plugin…sheesh. Anyway, I’m a highly satisfied user. Keep up the good work and thanks again for your patient support!

    Hi,

I just downloaded Soliloguy Lite and am having problems making the header full width on every page.

I have tried both playing around with letting images be cropped and changing the dimensions on the config tab.

Here is my site: https://www.peacockheadpieces.com (these are notthe actual images i will use I am just playing around with building an early version of the site atm).

Thanks in advance for all your help!

    ??
