Max res. thumbnail by default
-
Hi,
actually sorry if I create a thread but WordPress has gone crazy – I got your answer by email, but I don’t see my question in the other thread anymore.
Just really wanted to get back on:
Thank you for your feedback. Since not all YouTube videos have a high-resolution thumbnail image and YouTube will show a blank thumbnail if we request one, I don’t set the high-resolution option as the default. I will continue to look for a good solution to load the maximum resolution and automatically fall back to the default one if necessary. If I find one, I will add it to the plugin.
Just to clarify here, I didn’t want to ask for such a big change (though your idea is much appreciated!), my proposal was to let the user who installs the plugin “decide” if he wants to take the “risk” of setting the high-res one as default. As personal context: I double check all my posts anyway so if a video does not have the high-res, I would simply deselect it. It’s just that 99% of the time I need to manually enable it, instead (I haven’t tried creating a pattern yet – not sure if it keeps the setting that way).
If this is also doable via .php in the meanwhile and you could tell me how to, it would be greatly appreciated.Either way, once again great plugin, thanks a lot.
