I’m just starting a new site project with a lot of pictures in wp 6.2 and 2023 theme. I’m wondering whats the perfect max size for pictures? Is it according to the ttt theme / media settings a max of 1024px width? And what resolution is recommended. 96ppi or something higher?

I’m wondering whats the perfect max size for pictures
I wish I could give you a one-size-fits-all answer, but in the world of the web, there’s no one “perfect” image size – no matter the theme – as it depends on many factors. ??
For example, how much of the screen is the image taking up, is it a little picture in the middle of lots of text? Is it going to be a full-screen image used in the background of a cover block? Is your site going to have a “boxed” layout where it never goes beyond a set width? Or is it fluid, and will it stretch to fill the width of the entire screen?
Also, you need to think about your intended audience. Do you expect your site to be viewed mostly on small mobile devices like phones? Or mostly wide monitors? Or a combination of everything? What about people’s bandwidth, do you anticipate it will be limited, or is that not a factor?
I know this probably isn’t the answer you were hoping for, but this is the reality of the modern web. ??
All that said… if you’re talking about a background image in a cover block that’s set to Full Width, I might go for approx. 2400px wide, since you’d have other element like text or buttons overlaid on top. You can then check that on a wide screen monitor to see how it looks.
If it’s a block that’s going to be set to Wide Width, check your theme’s “Wide” content setting (Global Styles > Layout) and make your image width match that setting.
And what resolution is recommended. 96ppi or something higher?
I usually recommend 150ppi so images will be sharp on high density screens.
