• Hello, I have been using Max Mega Menu for a few sites. Thi is the first time I recall that the them that I have applied is not showing in the main menu. I have cleared cahes etc and tested switching plugins off but still no sign of the theme coming through. I need to style the mobile menu better but nothing within the them itself allows this and nothing I have done in Max Mega Menu seems to affect change. Any positive help is very welcome.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi anthony,

I’ve installed evolve here and it’s working as expected (without any changes). Please can you post a screenshot of your Mega Menu > Menu Locations page?

    Regards,

    Hello Tom,

Thanks for getting back to me. I attach the screenshot. Not sure if it helps at all.

    Hi Anthony,

Thanks. I think you have MMM enabled for the wrong location (mainmenu, which is a custom location you have created, but is not output anywhere on the front end). Please try enabling it on Primary Menu instead.

    Regards,
    Tom

Hello again Tom, Many thanks for the response. I have assigned the Main Menu to the Primary Menu but none of the styling is appearing. The styling which is appearing when set this way bares no relation to the styling used in the Max Mega Menu or the Evolve menu styling? I have used MMM numerous times and have not had this issue before. Maybe I am just having a daft moment!! Any further guidance would be much appreciated. I attach a screenshot of the chosen location.

I have reverted the menu to a style that works ok for now using the Evolve menu styling which is a bit limited, which is why I wanted to utilise the greater flexibility of MMM

    Hi Anthony,

You’ll need to go to Mega Menu > Menu Locations and enable it on the “Primary Menu” location (not the “mainmenu” location). Right now I can see it’s only enabled for the “mainmenu” location.

Hello again Tom, as per the screenshot, I had selected the Primary menu and when doing so the resultant styling was as per the screenshot attached here. This styling bares no relation to the styling selected in the MMM or Evolve them custom menu styling. I think I’ve got my menu’s in a fankle here! After seeing this resultant menu styling then I reverted to the styling which is now active as a temporary measure until I can get MMM functioning on the menu. Thanks for your patience.

    Hi anthony,

I’ll need to see the menu in that state so I can see why it’s looking like that, can you leave it enabled so I can check it? I’ll be online (on and off) for another couple of hours.

    Regards,
    Tom

Hello again Tom, No problem. Thanks for taking the time. Its setup using the Primary menu now.

Ok, can you try setting the Mega Menu > General Settings > CSS Output to “Output in <head>”?

Bingo! That seems to have worked. So what did this change do then? I can get to work on resolving a style for the menu. Many many thanks.

    Hi Anthony,

For some reason the style.css file that MMM was outputting wasn’t reflecting the latest changes (possibly caching related – I notice you have something that ‘removes query strings from static resources).

    Regards,
    Tom
