• I’ve been struggling with this theme for a few weeks now. Our company cannot seem to make this theme look as it does here (https://gazpo.com/2012/07/max/#more-917). We’ve managed to get the photos in the large slider to not be stretched out anymore, but there’s no box that appears on those images with the blog summary. Our carousel is also not functioning properly. Either we get one small line from the title and nothing else, or the top strip of a picture; whereas in the theme description, there’s both. I’m unable to provide a link to the site as it’s not live yet, we have an existing blog that we’re revamping with this theme. But if we cannot fix these issues, I feel as though we’ll have to look in another direction and these past few weeks will have been a giant waste of our time.

I also forgot to add, we can’t seem to get the grey field at the bottom to be anything more than that. How do we fill it with content?

    Thanks.

    1. Slider should show the post title and summary, if you have changed anything in the CSS, it might have become invsible.

    2. You need to define the fixed height for the carousel, you can change the height in style.css file. Increase the height and it will show more text.

    3. Did you mean the footer by ‘grey field in the bottom’? You need to add widgets in that area. Go to your widgets section and select widgets.

Its impossible to know most of your problems without having a look at live demo.

How did you fix the image stretching, BTW? I’m running into the same problem.

Mark, be sure to create your own thread on the issue.
    It sounds fixable.

No need — I think I understand now that Max Magazine does the stretching if you don’t use images that have the perfect ratio. Not great, but that’s how it works.

    AshtonCollege: To answer your questions:

    1. Normally, the slider should show the featured image that you set in your Add New Post page and the title and excerpt from the post. If you’ve modified some files or changed style.css, it may not function properly. Make sure that you’ve set a featured image for each of your posts.

    2. The “grey field at the bottom” that you want to put content in is the footer. With most themes (including Max Magazine), you can put widgets in there (like my website). To put widgets (widgets are what makes up your sidebar) in your footer, head to Dashboard >> Appearance >> Widgets and expand the Footer widgets area. Here you can drag all sorts of widgets over to be in your footer. Can’t find a widget you want? There’s bound to be a plugin for it. Install a plugin by going to Plugins >> Add New and searching for what you want.

Hope this helped! If you need anymore questions answered, just ask and I’ll try my best to answer.

Slider still cannot display images in the posts. Using WP ver. 3.6
    Any help?
