Matomo taking up resources
-
Hi with a new campaign I had more traffic than usual today, but still was only 4,000 page views according to matomo. My site slowed down and I got a lot of 525s. My web admin said that Matomo was taking up most of the resources. My current server (not shared) is 4.5 GB, 4 CPU, 45 GB SSD.
I have reviewed the tab Troubleshooting at the bottom Performance issues. “On Premise” is not an option. The cron suggestion is not applicable.
It says on https://matomo.org/docs/optimize-how-to/
Configure Matomo for speed
By default, Matomo (Piwik) works in real time. But when tracking a large website, It is highly recommended to disable “real time” reports and only process reports for “today” every 1 or 6 hours for example. This way, access to the user interface will only read pre-processed reports.the website you click from there to disable Real Time or set it to 1 hour, but when I follow the clicks, there is never any information how to do this.
The page you click through to https://matomo.org/docs/setup-auto-archiving/ doesn’t have anything about how to do this. I looked around in Settings in the plugin and on the account page and can’t find anything when searching on “Real Time” or “real-time” besides the Real Time results.
Is this deprecated? Is there something else I can do? The only setting I have enabled on the main settings page in the plugin is ecommerce. Everything else is unchecked or left as Default. see ss here: https://www.screencast.com/t/3ZHW1e30hJzq
