In our use case the plugin falls bits short on some parts. Here are the issues we faced.

1. We are not able to specify per form Matomo tracking IDs or use multiple IDs. Google Analytics has this option enabled.

2. We are using custom UI for GF and for some reason even if HTTP API option is selected, form submissions are not recorded in our Matomo instance. Does the plugin work with GF hooks or does it inject the code into frontend of the gforms? If later, I would like to bring up idea to work directly from GF submission hook and do the Matomo tracking from server side by using the PHP API/tracker. This would guarantee functionality without interfering the frontend code.

Could you possibly look into this?

From the default settings, it appears we are using Gravity Forms hooks to send the data over and that there currently isn’t a way to send multiple trackers.

Yeah, I didn’t go as far as to make multiple IDs configurable for Matomo as they are with Google Analytics as my use case didn’t call for that (I kept the implementation simple.) I can certainly see it being nice to have both services offer this capability, but I haven’t had time set aside to implement this myself.

Regarding the HTTP method for sending to Matomo, https://github.com/ronalfy/wordpress-gravity-forms-event-tracking/blob/develop/includes/GFGAET_Submission_Feeds.php#L514 shows the non-JS method for sending the event doesn’t send the site id, but https://github.com/ronalfy/wordpress-gravity-forms-event-tracking/blob/master/includes/GFGAET_Matomo_HTTP_API.php#L54 should loop through the variables and grab the idsite variable needed from the init function in that class. Additional troubleshooting may need to be done to narrow down the cause for this. That being said, the way this pulls the site id now would need to change if the first request to allow customizable site ids were to be implemented as well.

@lazmo88, you can see my initial implementation at https://github.com/ronalfy/wordpress-gravity-forms-event-tracking/pull/28/files, and I’m sure you’re more than welcome to address these items and get it officially implemented (much like how I added Piwik support in the first place with @ronalfy providing guidance & approval.) I’ll look to address these items, but I’m busy enough right now where I don’t have it on my immediate to-do list.
