    Hey,

I configured the WordPress Matomo Plugin and Complianz as described in the knowledge Database. Everything is working fine. But the Cookie of Matomo are Displayed as Marketing Cookies not as Statistc Cookie. Why is this happening? On Cookiedatabase the cookies are listed as statistc Cookie and also the class in the script tag is cmplz_stats.

Due to the GPDR I think its nessecery in Germany to list the Cookie in the corect group.

    I hope you can help.

    Best Regards Alex

    Hi @keksdipp,

I just visited your site, but I suspect that you have not (yet) published the Cookie Policy. The ‘Cookie Richtlinie’ link directs to the homepage. I’d like to inspect the Cookie Policy to investigate which cookies these are and why they are listed as marketing.

    Kind regards,
    Leon

    Hi @keksdipp,

Looking at your Cookie Policy, I see only one Matomo cookie: ‘MATOMO_SESSID’. It is displayed as functional.

If you have configured Matomo to anonymize IP addresses, consent is not required for these cookies, as no personal data is collected and the statistics are hosted locally. This is also allowed under the DSGVO, where Google Analytics is always considered to require consent (also when IP addresses are anonymized), but locally hosted and anonymized statistics like Matomo are still exempted from consent.

    Kind regards,
    Leon

Now the Cookie Policy should be correct. The assistant acts kind of weird. Everything I find to tracking Cookies says that they need a consent in germany. As far as I know I am not allwoed to set a cookie befor the user gives the okay.

@keksdipp Tracking cookies do need consent indeed. Though Matomo can be configured in a way that does not require consent.

    A German Source:

    I hope this helps.

The German source says that a consent from the user ist needed. Opt-Out isnt enough.
Its possible to disable the Cookies from Matomo but this is only Possible if I insert the code by Matomo.
At the moment Complianz inserts the Code from Matomo.

The German source also says that a Consent is still requird without cookies due to DeviceFingerprints.

    Kind Regards Alex

    Hi @keksdipp,

Did you select Germany as a subregion in the wizard, under visitors? If so, could you select not anonymizing IP’s and try again?

    regards Aert

    Hey,

it looks like it worked to select not anonymizing IP’s. But is it now anonymizing the IP configured in matomo? Or is it not cause Complianz selected to not anonymize?

    Kind Regard Alex

    Hi @keksdipp,

You can anonymize IP’s addresses in Matomo itself, we only ask if you do so we can release the script.

    @aahulsebos Okay great much thanks.

Just to let you know. In your Knowledge Base about the Matomo wordpress Plugin the is Missing that you have to Disable the Tracking from Matomo and ad the SideID in the Complianz Settings. That is only needed if you are using the Matomo Implementation from Complianz but would be an nice addon for the Knowledge Base i think.

    Much thanks.

    Kind Regards
