I have the same problem, I have the “Math Required” question on the registration page, and I want to get rid of it. I have tried disabling plugins and it is still there! Where is this coming from??? The only plugins I have are sidebar login and SimplePress forum.

OK, the problem was SimplePress forum. It puts the math question on the main WordPress registration form, which is not part of SimplePress. I guess that’s what led me astray. In SimplePress go to ManageComponents –> Login/Registration –> User Registration Box, Uncheck the ‘Use Spam Tool on Registration Form’ and the math question will go away.
