hi. I’ve recently updated my permalink for my site completely. my site is on the older side, it has been around for over 5 years and this will cause a lot of redirectione errors for me in google console.

i have already set up redirection but I was adviced to re-submit the sitemap. can I do that? how can I do that? and is it adviced or will google figure it out on its own?

    any help is appreciated

    Hi @hildansju,

You can resubmit your sitemap to Google Search Console. It should help speed the process up rather than waiting.

You can follow our steps here to resubmit your sitemap.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks!

the link you sent was for submission for the first time, but I already have one. I meant re-submit.

    Hi @hildansju,

You can resubmit your sitemap by following the steps here –

Sign in to Google Search Console.
In the sidebar, select your website.

    Click on ‘Sitemaps’.
The ‘Sitemaps’ menu item is under the ‘Indexing’ section. If you do not see ‘Sitemaps’, click on ‘Indexing’ to expand the section.

Under ‘Submitted sitemaps’ on the page, click on the sitemap you want to remove.

Click on the 3 vertical dots in the top-right of the page then select Remove Sitemap. You can then re-add the sitemap here.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks!
