Hi there! Since we use Converter For Media we do have an massive increase of files in our web space. And for us it is not clear, …

… 1) is that comming from converting all jpg. into WebP? Or are this other files?

… 2) if we use the Button “Force all images to be reconverted”, will be then there an overwrite of all files? Or will it increase again the amount of files?

… 3) if we want to test the plugin and delete it for while, will be all WebP-Files delete autmatically as well? Especially those, which increased our web space?

… 4) Why does the plugin not allow two different picture sizes for product pictures? When we now try to upload pictures with a higher size than standard product, the picures will not be displayed in orginal size. Look this example: https://snipboard.io/HMDxq0.jpg

Thanks for you support! We looking forward for your expertise! ??

    Hello @ammerseebavaria,

    Thanks for your message.

    1. The plugin does not modify the original files. The generated WebP files are saved to disk, so the number of files is greater.

    2. Not. Then all files will be converted again and overwrite the existing ones.

    3. When removing a plug-in, all files are deleted. The plug cleans up everything after itself.

    4. I don’t quite understand the problem. Please give me the URL of your page with this problem.

    Best,
    Mateusz

The short box contains exactly the same long picture as the other boxes. Exapting this product –?which was published after we installed the plugin!

    Thanks @ammerseebavaria!

I checked it out and it has nothing to do with my plugin. The reason is completely different. This is related to the aspect ratio of the image and my plugin does not affect it.

Here is an example of an image that is vertical:

And in the box where you see the problem, another image (square) is added:

On sites where I used it, it created from 500 uploaded images a mighty massive 500,000 after I installed and ran it.
I think the problem was it also made WebP and AVIF from all LS Cache folder and their WebP. and so whenever I try to delete images after 6 or so, it takes down my entire super strong litespeed server. Probably runs loops or something. Terrible as I don’t dare delete and backups are massive now.

@tekgirlymama The plugin optimizes images from the /uploads directory. Please disable the generation of WebP files by another plugin, so as not to duplicate the same actions by several plugins.

Remember that when you add one image to the library, WordPress generates several or several smaller files from it – depending on your theme and other plugins. All these files are converted to WebP and to AVIF.
