Massive improvement on v1.x

Despite the debacle and excitement (from me included) around the issues with version 2 of this plugin, I decided to remove it and look at alternatives. However, despite my desperate searching, there is no product I can see that comes anywhere near the free version of this plugin in terms of flexibility and functionality.

Yes, there are addons you’ll need to purchase and renew on an annual basis, but there’s no such thing as a free lunch. The developers have worked very hard on making version 2 extremely stable, and with the extensive testing I’ve completed today in my DEV environment, UM 2.0 is the clear winner and leader when it comes to producing a rock solid profile and logon / register management system. I understand that this is a massive culture shift from v1.x to this as the underlying components and technology have changed. Admittedly, there should have been much more information and communication around these changes to prevent the natives getting restless, but it’s happened now, and let’s move on.

This latest version is fast, slick, looks great, and overall is completely stable. I have experienced no issues at all in my testing of the entire CORE product (I’m not currently using any of the addons, so no comments at present). More important are the newly added privacy features in line with GDPR.

Let’s give the devs credit where it’s due here, and get behind them rather than stamping all over them.
