Marking a product as “Draft” is not deleting/ hiding item in Fb Catalog

    On our shop, we have some products that we’re manually marking as draft, however they aren’t marked as hidden/deleted on our Facebook Catalog.
    However if the product is marked as published, the product sync is happening correctly. We did went ahead and forced the “Sync prodcuts” from the settings but yet the products are still on the Catalog.

    Any help on this?

    We’re running:
    WP 5.8
    WC 5.5.2
    Facebook For WooCommerce 2.6.1

    Hi there,

    As the plugin isn’t aware of the product in the WooCommerce store, it isn’t able to delete it on Facebook. You could certainly delete/disable them manually from Facebook if there aren’t many.

    Is your Facebook catalog displaying products from your WooCommerce store that are set to ‘Draft’ after deleting them from the Facebook catalog and performing manual sync?

    Yes, the Facebook Catalog still keeps showing draft products after manual sync.

    We would expect the following behavior when editing a product on WP:
    1. Whenever a published product is marked as draft, send a request to Facebook to mark it as hidden, then disable auto sync.

    We haven’t gone through all the Facebook products and remove them in our catalog as they are more than 300 and doesn’t seems to be an option now to delete a bulk of them.

    Hi @landerop,

    Products that are in draft status shouldn’t be synced to Facebook.

    To make sure this is indeed consistently happening, please create a new test product as a draft and trigger a manual sync.

    Next, go to the Facebook catalog to see if the test product is synced.

    Let us know how that goes.

    It doesn’t sync products with draft status. But that’s not our issue, we would think that whenever a product is marked as active, and then we mark it as draft on WP, there should be a last “sync” that marks the product as hidden. But seems the plugin doesn’t follow that logic.

    I see. That is a good point. I checked the plugin code for anything related, but that feature seems to be missing indeed.
