• When marketpress lite is installed and admin menu manager is active, I made a menu which pulled some category names out of the Product Categories side bar for a top bar menu. Once that menu was saved, the normal product category widget from marketpress lite stops working because the link structure in the product category widget is broken. All you get is 404 not found errors.

Unfortunately there does not seem to be any way to reverse what admin menu editor does once it is in the database. Deactivating the plugin or deleting the plugin will not reverse what has been done to the normal admin menu structure.

I hope Janis will find a way to fix this because I am sure it will interfere with most ecommerce structures such as woo commerce or similar.

That’s very strange, because Admin Menu Editor actually can’t make permanent changes to the admin menu. This is because the normal admin menu structure is not, in fact, stored in the database. Instead, WordPress generates the admin menu on the fly every time you load an admin page. The only way to permanently change the menu would be to edit WP core files, which AME doesn’t do.

Deactivating AME would have fixed any problems it may have caused. If the errors persist even after deactivating and uninstalling it, they were definitely caused by some other plugin or setting.

I have deactivated it a couple of times but not uninstalled it. I will try that next.
