markers and posts aligned for housekeeping

    I’m thinking how to keep markers easily aligned to posts so housekeeping and imports are simplified and also to help with bulk import of markers and posts. Maybe at point of import I could set Marker ID and Post ID to be the same number? The only linking between a post and a marker is the shortcode that ends up in the post – there are no maps marker custom fields that could be imported with the post i think so using common marker id and post id would create that link (at least in my mind)

    thanks for your feedback! setting the same marker ID as post id is not really an option though, as the ID is autogenerated and changing that would break other things.
    For a later pro release a plan to add better integration into post/page workflow – anyway I dont have found the best approach that yet, so it will still take some time…

    I’m not thinking about the coding at all but my scenario the best way is this-
    In custom fields on the Post edit page
    Marker Name
    Marker ID
    Address & lat/long
    pop-up text
    A new thing called Marker Group.

    shortcode can then be something like [mapsmarker marker=”me”]

    Marker Group links back to Maps Marker config pages and can be added to layers etc same as for Markers now.
