I am having trouble viewing markers on my map – it works fine on my localhost install (which is exactly the same as on server).

I have tried altering permissions of wp-content to all be writable by group, and I can’t see any errors when I use developer tools on chrome. I have disabled plugins as suggested, I haven’t changed theme as didn’t want to commit to that and the map wasn’t showing up by default in the normal theme.

My website is: https://www.seasquirt.co.uk/fortymunros as you can see there is a map on the sidebar, and it should show three points, but it isn’t. As a test I added a [mapsmarker marker=”1″] to the sidebar too, and that does show a marker on the map.

    I hope you can help!

  • Sometimes stupid… but I added a new marker and then opend the map (layer) and whas wondering Why the map doessn’t show the new marker. I forgott to add the marker to the layer map.

What you did here is showning a layer map on the sidebar. Your test with [mapsmarker marker=”1″] is displaying just the marker map. If you would like to see a marker in a layer map you need to edit the marker and choose the layer(s)

    Hi,

the markers for the layer map cannot be loaded – the GeoJSON endpoint at https://seasquirt.co.uk/fortymunros/wp-content/plugins/leaflet-maps-marker/leaflet-geojson.php?layer=1&full=no&full_icon_url=no is giving the following error:

Warning: require_once(.../wp-content/wp-includes/load.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in .../wp-content/wp-load.php on line 49

Did you change/move the default WordPress files, especially wp-load.php, which should be located at your root directory?

Thanks so much @robert – looks like I completely messed up my manual upgrade to WordPress on the the server!
Just out of interest, how did you view the error? I can’t work out how to do that.

Many thanks again, and also for such a great plugin ??

    Hi Fiona,

well, if you have been working with WordPress for quite a while, you will get some idea on what can go wrong ??

In your case /wp-content/wp-includes/load.php indicated for me that there is some general issue with WordPress, as wp-includes has to be located in root directory and not within wp-content.

In general I would suggest using the automatic update offered within WordPress – cant remember when I manually updated a WordPress instance, as the update process has been working flawlessly for me for years.
    best,

    Robert
