Under the Advanced tab in Settings there is an option to pull marker data from a database or an XML file. When the database option is chosen, nothing is provided to give table name, location, etc..

How does pulling marker data from a database work and how does one set it up?
This was a major factor in choosing this plugin, I do hope a solution can be reach quickly.

  • I too am curious about this feature. I’ll need to import a large set of markers and KML files.

Also, there is no Advanced tab. It says here (
https://www.wpgmaps.com/documentation/exporting-and-importing-your-markers/) to click the Advanced tab but I don’t see that in my version. Is this a Pro feature? It’s not specified.

All I’m looking to do is upload my CSV data to my map.

Hi jasonmotlagh. We have received your support ticket and Nathan will be working with you in answering any questions you may have ??

@multimediocrity. Importing/Exporting markers is a Pro feature. Sorry for the confusion regarding this.

I have a WordPress site that uses Formidable Pro to store addresses in the database. I would also like to know how to use the feature that jasonmotlagh is looking for. Will your support to him be published here for all to see or should I open my own ticket?

… also, what do you consider to be a “small amount of markers” vs. a “large amount of markers”?

    Hi PapaDawg

Unfortunately our plugin doesn’t integrate with Formidable Pro and would require customization to the plugin to achieve this.

A small amount of markers would be considered 2500 or less.

    I hope the above helps?

Thank you for the clarification. I understand that your plugin does not integrate with Formidable so my question reverts back to wanting to know what jasonmotlagh asked in the original post. Can you share the support that Nathan gave him? I have about 500 markers so it seems that the database solution might work fine.

    Hi PapaDawg.

Sorry for the confusion regarding that.

The plugin can either use the Database or XML files to load markers. On activation, a table called ‘wpgmza’ is created and all of your marker data will be stored in there. Should you choose the Database pull method, the map will load marker data directly from there.

Should you opt for the XML method, the map will create an XML file when saving, by pulling all the marker data related to that map, and creating an XML file. Thereafter, when the map loads it will load the marker data from that XML file.

Should you prefer to use an external source though, you would have to point the source URL to the new source, and change the respective fields accordingly – unfortunately this cannot be done without changing the plugin’s core functionality.

    I hope this helps?
