Markdown vsTextile

Personally I’m having VERY inconvenient plugin conflicts arising from using non-standard formatting plugins like TextControl, so my feeling is that if you can stay away from them, do.

So what do you recommend? Using the in-built TinyMCE editor? Personally, I didn’t like it too much. What would you suggest as an alternative?

The good old (html) editor in the WP – not the tinymce. With a few customized quicktags it makes wonders ??

Customized quicktags? Would you please elaborate?

Personally, I like Markdown, and have never had any problems or conflicts with it, but I’m sure I don’t do as much as some with their WordPress installs. I don’t know much about Textile though.

I like Markdown. I think it’s syntax is more intuitive than Textile’s and looks better without the formatting applied. I also like the footnote links.
