Markdown / Converting to HTML but not presenting Markdown for editing

  • I’ve been using Jetpack’s Markdown feature for a few years and write all my posts in markdown.

    Recently, my posts that have been written in markdown are all converting to HTML, and then when I reopen the post to edit it, it is being presented as the HTML version. Previously, the Markdown version would appear–now it’s the HTML version.

    Is this a deliberate behavior change? I can’t find any relevant settings to affect it. I’d much prefer to be given the markdown versions when going back to editing.

    We haven’t made any changes on our end, but this will happen if you deactivate the Markdown module for example.

    If you get that error when the module is still active, could you try to deactivate and reactivate the module and see if it helps?

    Thanks. Have tried that, but it’s not making any difference. Will continue fiddling to see if I can narrow it down. Odd that it only started happening recently, and there haven’t been any other major changes or plugins added other than update to Jetpack 4.5 and WP 4.7.1 release.

    It’s odd. We haven’t really made any changes to the Markdown module lately, so I’m not sure what could cause this. I’m also not able to reproduce on my end at the moment.

    Could you try to deactivate other plugins, one at a time, and let me know if you find a conflicting plugin?
