• Hello,

I’m not sure if this is really a question for WordPress and it’s users, as it is more of a hosting problem, but since 123-reg haven’t responded to my e-mails I thought I would ask for help here.

I am just starting out with WordPress and as explained, I am using 123-reg as my hosting.

With my hosting, my main domain name is designedbyross.co.uk, within this I set up a folder (called ‘wordpress’) to map to my WP blog. I went ahead and mapped the domain, then proceeded to install the WP app that is offered on 123 reg, the installation went smoothly however all of the links/images/css files etc were pointing to the wrong locations (due to the mapping) – I then decided to uninstall the WP app and start again.

So this time I created a folder ‘blog63’ , and installed the WP app within it, this went fine and designedbyross.co.uk/blog63 worked accordingly with all files now pointing to the correct paths. However, after re-mapping my other domain to the blog63 folder and attempting to load the website, it is still looking for the old ‘wordpress’ folder and therefore gives me a 404 Not Found Error.

Really hope someone can point me in the right direction of how to solve this issue.

If you got this far, thanks for reading!

    Ross

    designedbyross.co.uk seems to work fine.

Are you trying to have the blog run the main of your site or have another domain point to blog63?

    I want scene63.com to point at designedbyross.co.uk/blog63

I also own another domain, imagin8ive.com which I have attempted to point to designedbyross.co.uk/blog63 and this works fine, it is the scene63.com what I am having problems with as explained above.

    Thanks

You need to ask your host how to set up add-on domains then. This isn’t a WordPress question really (save that BEFORE you get the add-on pointed to /public_html/blog63 you should change the URLs in WP to be scene63.com and not designedbyross.co.uk/blog63)

Unless you’re using Multisite, which is a different thing.
