mapping subdomain from different domain

    Hi,
    I can’t use subdomain from different domain than the parent domain, here’s what I use:

    – alfa.erapotensia.com (default site) ok
    – beta.erapotensia.com (subsite) ok
    – indoittraining.com (subsite) ok, but currently map temporarily to other wp single site
    – fresh.indoittraining.com (subsite) somehow the dns not mapped to the wp multisite dir

    Basicaly it fail when using subdomain from different domain than the defult site, but it work using the different domain without adding subdomain.

    – I’ve map A record for the fresh.indoittraining.com pointing to the same IP with the default site
    – I’ve map the dir of subdomain fresh.indoittraining.com pointing to the default site dir

    Help to make fresh.indoittraining.com running as subsite on alfa.erapotensia.com ??

  • There are no DNS records for the domain ‘indoittraining.com’ or the subdomain ‘fresh.indoittraining.com’.

    You’ll need to fix that first.

    It’s not fully propagated but it’s there, the DNS records https://dnschecker.org/#A/indoittraining.com

    At least from my country its accesible already.

    still not here so I can’t see the rest of the problem until that gets here.

    Still not here…

    I can see what looks like the proper records on

    ns1.niagahoster.com

    though so…

    Check to make sure

    indoittraining.com

    and

    fresh.indoittraining.com

    are recognized by the control panel and both pass through to the WordPress root directory.

    Ok just found that my DNSSEC didn’t match so some DNS server refuse to propagate, so I just disabled that. Now propagation complete.

    Anyway, yes the fresh.indoittraining.com recognized by the control panel and point to wp mu root directory.

    Since there’s no domain mapping debug or such feature that I know about,
    I almost certain that wp mu not yet support such mapping.
    I tested with new installation of wp mu and the result still the same.

    So far I know for certain that this variation of domain work for wp mu:

    – animal.com (main)
    – dog.animal.com
    – cat.animal.com
    – dog.com
    – cat.com

    and this variation didn’t work:
    – animal.com (main) accessible
    – big.dog.com return unknown errors

    until someone corrects me, pleaaase ??

    I stand corrected, found the problem, it’s the ssl certificate, need to reinstall it.

    I here by know for certain that wp mu can handle all scenario that above I stated, of domain mapping.

    I hope anyone who encounter same problem can resolve their problems by reading this.
