I’m pretty sure you can’t map a domain to a subfolder with any of the dmain mapping plugins I’ve heard of.

Yes, folks at MediaTemple told me exactly the same, “You’ll need to configure WordPress to understand ntc-ua.com/blog URL instead, as it will always be accessing the WPMU installation with that domain.”

So, is there anything else I can do? I really need a workaround or something to fix this mapping issue. I really need that blog running asap ??

I’m trying to map my Multisite sub-blog https://joaoramos.org/ntc-ua to it’s former location https://ntc-ua.com/blog,

You cannot include a folder when domain mapping.

It’s not a limitation of any of the domain mapping plugins or wordpress. – you can’t even do this with Blogger.

you can map https://ntc-ua.com/ to https://joaoramos.org/ntc-ua and on that blog make a page called /blog/. That’s the closest you’ll get.

    Thanks, Andrea.

Since doing that requires me to replace my directory with a symlink, can I then migrate my punBB forum to https://ntc-ua.com/forum, as it is right now?

If you dump it in the /forum directory off the other domain, it’ll show.

How do you mean? Inside my WordPress Multisite wp-content/blogs.dir directory? Will it work without .htaccess and rounting workarounds?

If you put a forum in https://joaoramos.org/forum it’ll be available at ntc-ua.com/forum

I conjecture that you could toss in a customized .htaccess to the forum folder to redirect anyone who ISN’T coming from ntc to correct the URL.

The thing is that I’m not mapping my main WPMU domain, but one of the Multisite sub-blogs, so I guess that dumping my /forum anywhere else but the wp-content/blogs.dir/ directory won’t do the trick. Am I right?

I mean, I don’t want my /forum to be located in https://joaoramos.org/forum, but in https://ntc-ua.com/forum (as it is right now). Any other suggestions?

No. That’s not it at all.

When you map a domain to your MultiSite (not WPMU anymore) install, you point the domain to the public_html folder of your parent domain, right?

So if you put a folder called ‘jimmycrackcorn’ in there, you will see that folder on all domains mapped to your parent domain

    Try it.

Ipstenu is correct. ?? Listen to her.

Ahaha, you’re right, of course! I didn’t know that. It’s a sort of a workaround, but will do the trick ??

    Thank you guys!
