• The issue happens only with mapped domains. When we engage user switching on domain mapped site, the site url flips/changes from the non-mapped domain in this subdomain to the domain mapped name; its gets redirected xxxxxxx.login.php?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fxxx.xxx.xx.xxx%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1. This change makes the login box appear again, requiring a login in order to access mapped domain site. This recent occurrence (not sure what caused it) of this login prompt subsequently doesn’t allow super admin access to the desired site, as I don’t know the user’s password to get into the site. If I enter super admin credentials, then I see the site as super admin rather than through the eyes of the user I switched to.

    Thanks for the report.

I’ve tested this out on a few sites with domain mapping in place and I can’t reproduce the problem. I wonder if there is a plugin (or theme) in use on your network which is filtering the URLs on the site and breaking the URL used for switching.

    * When you log out, are you sent to the correct domain name for the log out screen?
    * Can you try deactivating your other plugins (and themes) one by one to see if one of them is interfering?

When you log out, are you sent to the correct domain name for the log out screen? Yes

Can you try deactivating your other plugins (and themes) one by one to see if one of them is interfering? Yes. Already tried that. With all plugins shut off, still redirected to mapped domain name. Thought this was built into the core. Read on some online sites that this is the default behavior. Do you agree? Got any other suggestions please?
