Mapbox API geosearch documentation?

    Hi. Thanks for adding Mapbox as a geosearch option. I tried it using API but for some reason the auto-suggest list of available locations is far more limited and slower than compared to Hivepress geosearch which uses the very same Mapbox API key. Any ideas why they both don’t behave the same way? If you have any documentation on optimizing Mapbox geocode/search auto-suggest API please let us know.

    Hi @wordmax,

    It took me a while to test this as I had other priorities to solve. The “issue” is that Mapbox has two APIs. Open User Map uses the GeoCoding API while Hivepress uses the Searchbox API. The first one does not provide the same coverage as the second one – but is still quiet good and not as expensive when it comes to API limitations.

    Maybe in the future I will extend Open User Map with the Searchbox API as well, but for now I will keep it as it is.

    Thanks for checking into that Daniel. It makes sense. The searchbox API is so much better than the geocoding API at autosuggest for a much wider variety of businesses. I would think that feature alone would be worth getting the pro version upgrade. Maybe if its a pro version option it would justify the dev time to add Mapbox Searchbox API. Will keep fingers crossed. ??
