    or is it because of the theme?

    The “Pronamic Domain Mapping” plugin can only map domains to the custom post type pronamic_domain_page labeled: “Domain Name Page”: https://github.com/pronamic/wp-pronamic-domain-mapping/blob/1.3.1/includes/post.php#L4-L28.

    Can this plugin be used to create “This Domain Name” landing pages without having to create websites for each domain? It looks like I would be able to create Domain Name landing pages in my WordPress marketplace site and map them to the appropriate domain. Example:

    https://www.websitesmarketplace.com = marketplace
    https://www.princessofcrafts.com = landing page

    If sales prospect goes to https://www.princessofcrafts.com they will see the landing page for it as created on wwww.websitesmarketplace.com.

    I would have only one WordPress website to maintain but could be selling dozens of domains. The landing pages would be published on https://www.websitesmarketplace but not added to any menu.

    Would the landing page have the same design possibilities as any other WordPress page? Or might I need to ask for customizations to the custom post type if I want to sell domains and websites?

    Am I understanding the value of the plugin correctly?

    I’m looking for tools to help me replace Efty.com. It like other options focuses on selling domain names and doesn’t support selling websites. This functionality if I understand it might help me get to where I would like to be. Am I on the right track?

    Thanks, in advance.

    The plugin adds a custom post type pronamic_domain_page in WordPress. For each ‘domain name page’ (= the landing page), you’ll get:

    • an “usual page” (it’s not the same as an usual page and it won’t show up in any menus) with editor for any custom content;
    • the ability to set a domain name for that page;
    • the ability to set a custom Google Analytics tracking code.

    If the domain name is an alias/pointer to “websitesmarketplace.com”, the custom landing page will be shown for that domain name.

    The theme that will be used is the same as on “websitesmarketplace.com”, but the landing page can be fully customised by adding a template file single-pronamic_domain_page.php to your theme (use a copy of single.php or index.php – which are already in your theme – as starting point). Depending on your WordPress theme skills, you might need a WordPress developer to do the customisation to your specific wishes.
