I am sorry to hear that, however as a matter of fact, it does not require an API Key and should work just fine (as I am using it at https://wpmadeasy.com/contact/ also).

Anyhow, can you please let me know the exact short code (with all the attributes) in use? As well as, the Theme Name and Version. So I can try recreating the same thing here, thanks.

Have the same problem as orangetarshine. Have already emailed you re this on 10th July. Plugin no longer works since Google changed their browser API rules. I had to add a browser API to my DIVI Map module and once this was added I received the same error as mentioned until I turned off your plugin. So plugin cannot be used as it is and I have spent a lot of time adding map entries to a site I am working on.

This only happens (from what I can tell) on new sites that are in development or have gone live after the changes that Google implemented recently.

Hope you can look in to this soon.

    Thanks again.

Thank you wisey for the additional info!

That would make sense on what happened to us. It was working just fine on our test site, we added it about a month ago I believe. After we pushed it from our test url to a live site 2 days ago it no longer works correctly.

WPMadeasy- it is an awesome plugin, thank you for looking into it. ??

Same here. Also with Divi and messed many hours with Divi module.

With the plugin, map appears for 1 second and there’s an api error.

    Dear all,

The Google Maps API Key issue has been fixed. You can now set your own key under ‘WPME Google Maps’ -> Settings (page) -> Settings (tab) -> ‘Google Maps API Key’ input option.

Please see Obtaining an API Key for information about getting your own Google Maps API Key.

You simply need to grab a key and input in your plugin’s settings page (as mentioned above).

We really appreciate your patience and cooperation in this matter. Please remember to update your plugin to latest release (version 2.2). Hopefully the matter is resolved completely.

    Cheers.

Hi. Try as I might I just cannot get any map to display. I have a valid API Key entered. Could you give an example of a correctly formatted shortcode that should just work please, so that I can test.

    Thanks, Steve

p.s – Happy to donate if I can get your plugin working.

Short code is as simple as [wpme-gmap map="map-id"], if you are using advanced more. Otherwise it’s like [wpme-gmaps address="your street address here"], for the direct/basic mode.

If you have created your API Key for the first time, you might want to wait for a few hours to make it work, although this shouldn’t be true, but sometimes it happens. Also, try lifting any limitations from the API Key (i.e. IP or site restriction), for testing purposes.

Do you see any JS errors in console? Please write about it too.

On the other hand, if you would like to send us your API Key, we can try here too. You can send a private message using our Contact Us page at https://wpmadeasy.com/contact/. This page also uses the same plugin.

Hi. I’m sure it’s an API key problem. All I’m trying to insert is this as a test:

    [wpme-gmap address=”sydney, australia”]

    Here’s my API key:

    AIzaSyCQKoigcqQTp39aeEDJ2wJws7yXULk1CY8

    Thanks
    Steve
