Thanks for both of your posts and for taking the time to find and use an IPTC/EXIF mapping rule to copy the IPTC Keywords to the “Tags” (or “Att. Tags”) taxonomy.
You wrote “But I still have to enable the mapping on every single image “<- Click To Toggle”. Depending on what you mean I have three suggestions:
- You can run the mapping rule for all existing Media Library items by hovering over the mapping rule “Tags” name and clicking the “Execute” rollover action.
- You can automatically apply the rule to new items during upload by checking the “Enable IPTC/EXIF Mapping when adding new media” box and clicking Save Changes.
- You can skip the “<- Click To Toggle” step by navigating to the Settings/Media LIbrary Assistant General tab, checking the “Media Manager auto-fill meta boxes” box and clicking Save Changes.
If none of those suggestions are helpful, any additional details you can provide will help me understand your comment. I believe the second suggestion answers your “Is there a way to enable this by default for every upload so the tags are mapped to images?” question.
You asked “ how would I go about exposing the tags in form of a tag cloud? You can use MLA’s [mla_tag_cloud]
shortcode to build solutions around a tag cloud. There are some example solutions in the Settings/Media Library Assistant Documentation tab and several earlier support topics along similar lines.
I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have problems or further questions about the above suggestions. If you want more specific help with the [mla_tag_cloud]
it would be best to start a new topic. Thanks for your interest in the plugin.
