many unconfirmed email address

It depends. I accumulated nearly 2000 unconfirmed email addresses on an installation: if people don’t delete the unconfirmed email addresses then they will mount up.

thats not what i was asking…i’m wondering why I get some subscribers confirmed and many more unconfirmed.

If all is set up ok …then everyone who fills out the subscribe form will get the confirmation page and email.

So… since so many are unconfirmed …is it possible that something is wrong technically…outside of subscribers just not confirming their subscription in the confirmation email.

This is a problem i am continually having ….the confirmation email is working fine …the confirmation message page appears after sign up…the provided email and link brings me to the welcome page fine.

But i have over 300 unconfirmed emails and 50 confirmed emails ….doesn’t sound right to me. If 50 are getting through …why aren’t the rest getting confirmed ….could it really be that 300 of them are not replying to the confirmation email??

Possibly. As I said, I worked with a list of 300 subscribers and 2000 unconfirmed.

Must remember some of these are all sorts of submissions (such as spam submissions), crawling the internet for any form of form. I did look briefly into using Akismet or spam protection, but that noticeably affected signups.
