Hi everybody, setting up my UpdraftPlus is two archived backups. From November 2023, however, they are all archived, i.e. every week plus one backup, it is not even possible to delete them manually. The FTP settings are fine, the test does not report an error, the backups are constantly increasing.

    Many thanks for help, Midla.

    Hello

Assuming you are storing your backups on a remote FTP server – you may need to re-resynchronize your backups on this remote storage with the Existing backups section on your website.

This can be accomplished by deleting all of the existing backup sets in the Backup / Restore >> Existing backups section but with one important note, leave the Also delete from remote storage checkbox unticked as per this screenshot.

Once this has been done you can click the?rescan remote storage link?in the same section to add the backups again.??

This should allow the retention schedule to be correctly adhered to.

    Best,

    Paul

    Dear Paul,

thank you for the quick reply. I have tried all the tricks you mention with no success.
I use the FTP server for four websites, until autumn 2023 everything worked flawlessly, without problems.
The problem will probably be in the indexing of backups, I have now opened the ohradacup.cz website, which I have not used for a long time. Three backups were available, exactly according to the settings. I did a rescan of the remote storage and then the same backups that I see in the primary site barborkacup.cz appeared, which cannot be deleted.
The backups of the different sites have obviously started to get mixed up, I suppose a huge problem could arise when restoring – which backup is the right one…?
These problems probably occurred when the “Must-use plugins” option appeared in backups.

    Thank You, regards,

    Midla

    Hello,

Apologies, I should have mentioned that you if you are sharing one remote storage location between multiple sites, clicking the rescan remote storage location link will download the backups of all of the sites.

If the backups that you do not want are present on the remote storage location, try deleting them directly, then on the Existing backups section, delete them but leave the also delete from remote storage location checkbox unticked.
