Hi guys, I just newly migrated my biz to a Woocommerce platform. Anyway, very strange thing…

I’ve been getting a lot of new “customers” (inside WordPress Users >> Customers, not simply “Subscribers”) but no sales at all

(unlike with my old clunky site using Wishlist Member for membership plus ejunkie for ebook sales, not integrated together with no cross-sales easily, which is why I changed to Woo)

These are legitimate people mostly, I’m sure, because the usernames and email addresses look very legit (I do remember the spammy email addresses from spam users right after Woo installation and before I installed Cleantalk Security… it’s not that), and some email addresses even match my Aweber email subscriber list (I suspect these are customers who ended up right after my newsletter signup, then either abandoned or were unsuccessful for whatever reason). I did a test purchase on my own for the product my newsletter subscribers are presented with right after signup, and it went through successfully.

Note also that I have not received any “failed order” notices for these, which I do receive when there’s a credit card or payment problem (like when I was testing Chinese payment method Alipay). Also nothing in the Order section of Woo. Also strange is they have Usernames but no First Name and no Last Name (even the spam accounts used to have spammy names, but they still had names)

So who/what/why are there these “Customers” but no sales?

Any constructive input is welcome, I can PM you the website if you wish. Btw, I’m very new to Woocommerce. Thanks

    Hi there,
I can see that as being pretty frustrating!
Can you give me a bit more information about your site so we can figure out what’s going on here please:

    1) How long ago did you build this site?

    2) Did you import users and customers from our old site, and if so how?

    3) Is Aweber integrated into your site in some way?

    4) How many customer accounts are we talking about?

You may also want to check your Account and Privacy settings which are dettailed here:
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/configuring-woocommerce-settings/#section-15

and also try disabling “Anyone can Register” which is under Settings >> General in your wp-admin menu.

If you wanted to post your website URL here, I’d be happy to do a test purchase through to the point of payment to see if you get the notifications and to see if it shows as an order etc.

Hopefully, with a bit for info we can sort this out.

    Hi @junkofdavid2,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
