    HI,

I am using Autoptimize with CriticalCSS.com Power-Up , Today when adding a new product, my site suddenly completely broke, eveything looked totally messed related to css.

After disabling one by one my plugins i found that Autoptimize is causing this.
    My checked on Settings are:
    JavaScript Options
    Optimize JavaScript Code?
    Aggregate JS-files?
    Also aggregate inline JS?

    CSS Options
    Optimize CSS Code?
    Aggregate CSS-files?

    HTML Options
    Optimize HTML Code?

    Misc Options
Save aggregated script/css as static files?
Minify excluded CSS and JS files?
Also optimize for logged in editors/ administrators?
    Also optimize shop cart/ checkout?

I tried to uncheck one by one every option, nothing works..

Maybe someone could help me with this issue?

    Thank you,
    Marius

I tried to uncheck one by one every option, nothing works..

so even with CSS optimization off, the problem remained? sounds like a page cache linking to autoptimize CSS that wasn’t there anymore. clearing the page cache(s) and activating the “404 fallback” option should help there.

    hope this helps,
    frank

guess I was too late, site seems to have AO off again. do you have a staging site you could leave broken?

    I see

    403
    Forbidden

Access to this resource on the server is denied!

so looks like a webserver configuration issue .. :-/

My provider changed the permissions to wp-content/cache/autoptimize/css/ but it looks like all the files from css folder has permission of 600 …not 644 like should be.
There is a possibility that autoptimize make these files with this permission?

Looks like if these css files had 644 aces permission all should work..

permissions used are the ones set in the umask of the user under which PHP is executed, you’ll have to talk to your hoster to fix things I’m afraid.

I did, now the permissions are set but i have no css generated files in cache…

I uninstalled and installed again, nothing change

    Morning manast0001. So:
    * when looking at the generated HTML, did it contain references to optimized CSS/ JS?
    * on the AO settings page, under “cache info”, what did you see there (esp. the “can we write” one)?

    Thread Starter manast0001

    (@manast0001)

    HI,

    Yes, can we write..
    Cache Info
    Cache folder /home/tricouri/public_html/wp-content/cache/autoptimize/
    Can we write? Yes

    It contains references ,,,https://tricourilemele.ro/wp-content/cache/autoptimize/css/autoptimize_4dc0ee79e0e7eac97f28f3c069a50f66.css”
Nothing works. Permissions granted, reinstalled many times, contacted you and my hoster..i am not a man of code so i did what i could.

    Thank you for your support!
I’ll see what i can do further on.

how weird .. so taking a step back; it used to work, what happened right before it stopped working?

    Thread Starter manast0001

    (@manast0001)

Well , it is weird indeed.. I was adding a product in my store and when after Autoptimize delete cache – for viewing my product – my site showed up completely messed up.

fixed by removing the cache/autoptimize directory entirely allowing AO to re-created it.

feel free to leave a review of the plugin and support here Marius! ??
