Many buttons on backend not working, with in Woocommerce and Updraft

    Hi there, I am an inexperienced user who purchased this website last year and am learning to manage it with wordpress.
    Last Wednesday after no changes to the back end many buttons within Woocommerce stopped working, I discovered it when I went to create an order for a customer and found that when I clicked on edit customer details nothing happens, Same for adding line items, calculating the total, adding notes. But the button for saving the order and calculating fraud risk still work.

    Has not affected front end, orders can still be placed with no issues.

    I now try to fix the problem and the first thing I try to do is back up and I find a similar issue with Updraft app, the page loads fine but none of the buttons such as back now work, also if I try to navigate to existing backups from within updraft it doesn’t work.
    But if I select from the updraft menu at the top of the screen I can go to existing backups.

    From what I can find this is not a normal issue, as far as I know, all the plugins are very out of date. The only thing that is up to date is the WordPress version. When I purchased the site I was adviced against upgrading the plugins, particularly Woocommerce but I was not given a good reason.

    I also have other issues I would like to fix, Slider pictures not loading, and my helpdesk is linked to previous owners Freshdesk account.

    How do I go about troubleshooting this when I cant even backup?
    I do still have the ability to manage plugins so could deactivate some or all
