We are looking for a single inventory system for our business and like the look of ATUM having installed / tested the plugin on our staging site.

So that you understand our scenario, here is a an explanation of how we do business.

We have a RETAIL outlet and a Woocommerce website
A higher number of units are sold via the website but many items are sold directly from the retail shop.

Updating the stock via ATUM for items sold from the retail outlet is straightforward, however, this does not show items as being sold.

Knowing what has been sold from Woocommerce and the retail outlet channel is important as it will provide a means of determining supplier pre-order quantities.

Is there a workaround that we could use or a feature enhancement that might be considered for an add-on?

    Hope this is clear.

    Many thanks, Bob

    Hi 4boards,

Thank you very much for your post.

I will try and help here and hopefully we get a solution for you.

    – When you say that you update stock via ATUM, what do you mean? How do you do that for your retail outlet?

    – What POS system do you use in your stone shop?

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Best Regards,

    Pavel

OK, so I need to be clearer.

    1. Our aim is to have a single inventory covering both physical store and E-commerce website.

    2. There is no link between the physical store and website.

    3. A POS system is not installed, just traditional cash register.

    4. ATUM is installed on our STAGING site only to determine if it will meet our requirements, it is just what we are looking for apart from adding sales made in the physical store.

    —————————————————————————————
    Here is what happens now;
    1. Website customer order – product sold – stock is updated automatically, Woocommerce records sale.
    2. Using standard Woocommerce reports (wc-reports/sales by products) we can download and analyse items sold via the website.

    3. For products sold in the retail store, the website stock quantity is updated manually by editing the product to adjust stock quantity. In this case, a sale is not recorded in Woocommerce as it is only a stock adjustment.
    —————————————————————————————

The ideal situation would be to manually record sales / update stock in ATUM from another the retail store channel either via an add-on or by direct edit of a variable in Stock Central. (similar to function “Current Stock”).

    Hope this is clear now.

    Cheers

    Hi Bob,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Did you consider creating one manual order in WooCommerce that would cover all the products you sell per period in your physical store?

This way you have the count in your sales and can separate it in reports as you can chose cash as payment method.

And when completing the manual order just press the remove from stock button already included in orders.

ATUM will then show you all your actual stocks.

    Does it help?

    Hi Pavel,

Yes, I have considered that as a workaround but it takes quite a lot of effort.

If that is the only option, then that is what we will do.

Many thanks for your quick response.

    Cheers
