Manually edit rules in a text file (or something similar)

Hi

I have quite a lot of rules (60+) and when I want to make changes to many at one time, it is quite painful to do through the gui. Is there any way I can manipulate them in bulk a bit more easily? eg: it would be great if I could edit the file that stores them and do a replace all for certain text.
