• I have been looking for 2 hours now and am still confused on how to add members/users manually to s2member pro!

We are currently using wishlist member but we are using buddypress on this site and have switched to s2 member

Currently there are only about 70 paying members so I thought I would enter them manually.

I can not find where to enter password.

This is extremely confusing to me. I am sure it can not be this complicated!!
    I must be missing something.

Also how do help a customer who is having trouble with their account or needs help resetting password?

    Please help :/

I forgot to add that this is a multisite. Is that maybe what is complicating things?

Can you export your members from Wishlist to a CSV file? If so, that would probably be the best way to do this, because then you can re-organize the CSV in the way that s2Member will recognize, and import them. See s2’s Import/Export section.

The fact it’s multisite shouldn’t make any difference.

Yes I can export them from wishlist.

I am working on trying to figure import/export out :/

Why isn’t there a way in s2member to manually enter a user and a password? Is it right in front of me and I just don’t see it!

Will I then need to go through and enter the level for each individual user?

So far I think s2 is a great program if you know code. If you don’t understand code it is very confusing. I invested into the pro version but I have been stuck on this for a week. Even with hiring someone to help me!

I don’t know code either, and I have found it straightforward to use. If you have hired someone and it’s not working, s/he’s not the right person. Try krumch, for example, who is often on these forums. He’ll be able to do it for you!

The secret is not to rush. If you want to spin up something fast, s2Member isn’t the way to go unless you’ve used it many times before and know it inside out.

There are several other membership plugins available that can be configured much quicker by a newbie. The problem is that they aren’t anything like as powerful!

On the other hand, if you want something powerful, and want it to work well and be highly scalable, then s2Member is just the job. You must just work through each section of the back-end in order and follow the instructions. I find they generally work!

As to your question, you will certainly need to enter the user level because they are specific to s2, so Wishlist won’t have had them. If Wishlist exports the password in the CSV, you shouldn’t need to add them.

Alternatively, you could do it all manually with WordPress if you install the Simple User Password Generator plugin.

Then you could create each user yourself, set the user level, generate a password and send it off to the user. I wouldn’t fancy doing that 70 times, but it sounds like you might prefer it.
