Manual sync not working?

I do a manual sync and see this in the window:

14:50:16 Found 158 users.
14:50:19 Fetched 100 users.
14:50:19 Updating #17 xxx-xxx <[email protected]>
14:50:21 Error: null

and so on for all of the users. When it gets to #100 it then loops back and starts again and, as far as I can tell, then carries on looping through the users. When I check in Mailchimp, nothing has been updated.

I haven’t tested to see if it’s working in the auto sync.

Also, why does it find all 157 users but then only fetch 100 of them?
